An original play Old Man River which is a part of the Midwinter Madness Short Play Festival, directed by. Guil Fisher.
Old Man River is a play about living in the moment and the chance encounters that happen every day and which we rarely take the time to stop and appreciate. Oh, and there are laughs. Lots of laughs. And love. And a most talented ensemble that will make all forty-five minutes of my show worth your while.
I’ve enclosed a link below with relevant show dates and ticket information. Show dates are Wednesday February 20th at 8:00, Friday February 22nd at 9:45, and Sunday, February 24th at 1:30 pm. Come on out and support.
On Tuesday, February 12th, please join YP4C and the NY African American Chamber of Commerce as we co-host President Obama’s first State Of The Union address since being re-elected. The watch party will take place from 6 pm to 11 pm at Highland Park, which is located at 206 E 34th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. We have our very own Ilyas Akbar (DJ ILL) on the wheels spinning hits from the 90s from 6 to 9 pm as well as after the President’s address. Highland Park is offering 2 for 1 drink specials on top shelf drinks from 5 pm to 8 pm. At 9 pm, we will watch President Obama’s State of The Union address. There will be media on-hand as well getting our opinions on the President’s address. We will be live tweeting at the watch party as well. The official hashtag for the event is #SOTU and our event specific hashtag is #YP4Cwatch.
Please RSVP at http://yp4c.org/events and enter “SOTU” in the comments section. Also, President Obama recently called on Congress to pass common sense reforms to help reduce gun violence. If you are interested, please feel free to sign this petition being sent around by the Democratic Party asking Congress to swiftly pass legislation: http://my.democrats.org/Reduce-Gun-Violence. Thanks.
